What's New with the 2025 Ford Maverick? Updates to Canada's Popular Compact Truck

April 23 2025,

The 2025 Ford Maverick benefits from significant updates that answer the most frequent customer requests while maintaining its position as the most affordable pickup in the segment. This compact truck continues to attract buyers from both truck brands and other vehicle segments with targeted improvements for the new model year.

Hybrid All-Wheel Drive

The addition of all-wheel drive to the hybrid powertrain stands as the most requested and important update for 2025. Available on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims, this configuration delivers enhanced traction across various road conditions and all types of weather while targeting 5,9 L/100 km in city driving.

Hybrid all-wheel drive models can now be equipped with the 4K Tow Package, doubling towing capacity and allowing owners to pull small campers, personal watercraft, and utility trailers with confidence.

Tremor Becomes Full Trim Level

The Tremor package evolves into a dedicated trim level for 2025, featuring standard 360-degree camera and new One-Pedal drive functionality. With 231 mm of ground clearance, a 30.8-degree approach angle, and specialized suspension tuning, the Tremor provides serious off-road capability in a compact package.

Technology Enhancements

Ford has equipped the 2025 Maverick with a new 13.2-inch touchscreen running SYNC 4, replacing the previous 8-inch display. This expanded screen works with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster to provide clear information and controls.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity comes standard, eliminating the need for charging cables. The built-in 5G modem enables over-the-air updates to keep vehicle systems current throughout ownership.

Smarter Towing

New towing technologies address the needs of the nearly 50% of Maverick owners who regularly tow. Lariat and Tremor trims include Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist as standard features, technologies previously reserved for larger Ford trucks.

Pro Trailer Hitch Assist automatically aligns the hitch with the trailer coupler while controlling the truck's speed and steering, while Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes reversing with a trailer as simple as turning a knob.

Updated Styling

Ford has refreshed the Maverick's appearance with redesigned headlamps, front bumper, and grille across all models. Each trim level now features a unique grille design for clear visual differentiation.

Interior updates include new trim colours and materials, with the XLT trim featuring Grabber Blue accents and the Lariat adding a Smoke Truffle theme with bronze accents. The new Black Package includes a distinctive grille, black roof, black Ford badges, and 19-inch gloss black wheels.

Proven Versatility

The Maverick retains its innovative FLEXBED system and 680 kg maximum payload capacity. The multi-position tailgate and molded sidewall pockets allow for customization and organization without expensive aftermarket accessories.
